1.1 Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray Player

  1. Before installation, make sure your BDP-93 player is upgraded to the firmware later than the Mar 18, 2011 version. DO NOT use any beta version firmware (including Oppo Public Beta Test Version). Use Oppo Official Release Version firmware only.

  2. Disconnect all cables from the player;

 

Method 1: External Installation
1. Connect the RS 232 port in the kit to the RS232 port of the player;

2. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the player.
Congratulations!!! Installation is now complete.

 

Method 2: Internal Installation

  1. 95-2
    Remove all top-cover-retaining screws and open the cover. Please take off the 5 screws marked in the following figure:
  1. Connect the 4-pin plug to the 4-pin socket on the right lower part of the mainboard, as shown in the figure.  Remove the backing and attach the kit board to the sidewall with the adhesive pad glue.

  1. Put back the top cover and tighten the screws.

Congratulations!!! Installation is now complete.

Please be aware that use of this Modification Kit is at your own risk!

1.2 Oppo BDP-95 Blu-ray Player

1. Before installation, make sure your BDP-95 player is upgraded to the firmware later than the Mar 18, 2011 version. DO NOT use any beta version firmware (including Oppo Public Beta Test Version). Use Oppo Official Release Version firmware only.

  1. Disconnect all cables from the player;

Method 1: External Installation
1. Connect the RS 232 port in the kit to the RS232 port of the player;

2. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the player.
Congratulations!!! Installation is now complete.

 

 

Method 2: Internal Installation (Estimated time: 1 hour)
Only recommended to professionals or experts!

  1. Remove all top-cover-retaining screws and open the cover; Please take off the 5 screws marked in the following figure:

    Remove all screws on top of the sound board; Please take off the 10 screws marked in the following figure:

  1. 95-7
    Take off the protection caps and remove all screws on the side of the player to loose the sound board;
  2. 95-8
    Disconnect the flat cable as shown in the figure;
  1. 95-9
    Slowly and carefully lift the sound board and let it rest on the other side of the player;

 

  1. Cut the USB cable from the kit and use electrical tape to cover the RS 232 port; (Once the USB cable has been cut, the kit cannot be installed externally any more)
  2. Connect the 4-pin plug to the 4-pin socket on the right lower part of the mainboard, as shown in the figure. Remove the backing and attach the kit board to the sidewall with the adhesive pad glue. Please put the kit a little bit lower in the player so that the sound board has enough room to 95-10
    be put back.
  1. Put back the sound board and connect the flat cable;
  2. Put back the screws as shown in step 2;
  3. Put back the screws and the protection caps as shown in step 3;
  4. Put back the top cover and tighten the screws as shown in step 1.

 

Congratulations!!! Installation is now complete.

 

Region Code Operation
1.  Change of Blu-ray Regions

  1. Start the player and do not put in any disc. The screen will show “No Disc”. Do not go to next step if this sign has not shown up.

  2. Press the “Setup” button on the remote: go to “Playback Setup”, set “Auto Resume” to “Off”.

  3. Press the following buttons in sequence on the remote:DIMMER、DIMMER、DIMMER、MUTE,then press the correct number for the zone you want to change to.

Blu-Ray Region Selection Operation

Region A

DIMMER , DIMMER , DIMMER , MUTE , 1

Region B

DIMMER , DIMMER , DIMMER , MUTE , 2

Region C

DIMMER , DIMMER , DIMMER , MUTE , 3

  1. Restart the player. The Blu-ray region setting will be effective after reboot.

2.  Change of DVD Regions

  1. Start the player and do not put in any disc. The screen will show “No Disc”.
  2. Press the following buttons in sequence on the remote:DIMMER、DIMMER、DIMMER、PURE AUDIO,then press the correct number for the zone you want to change to:

  1. Restart the player. The DVD region setting will be effective after reboot.

 

3. Notice

  1. The default settings for the successfully kit-installed OPPO BDP-93 or BDP-95 should be Region 0 for DVD and Zone A for Blu-ray.
  2. The operation of region selection must be done in 20 seconds. The process must be restarted if it takes more than 20 seconds.
  3. If the BDP-93 or BDP-95 player was treated by the Superdisk to unlock DVD regions before, this hardware kit may not be able to work properly. Please take the following steps to remove the superdisk effect first before installation of the kit:
    1. Take all disk out of the player, make sure there is no USB device

               connected at the REAR USB port;

      • Power off and power on the player;
      • Re-install the latest firmware;
      • Power off and power on the player;
      • Make sure Region A BluRay disk is workable in the player;
      • Get the disk out and wait until the player shows 'No Disk'.
